1. INTERNATIONAL SMILING CHILD FESTIVAL’S PURPOSE
Our prior purpose of founding this organization is to help handicapped children to socialize with the other kids and to protect the future of our children in this changing world in the frame work 23 April National Children’s Day which the great leader Ataturk has given as a gift to the kids of the whole world. Our children are our future and to protect their rights is our duty.
The disabled children coming from various countries of the world to will be hosted for a whole week in Istanbul, one of the most beautiful cities of the world, so that they will live unforgettable moments in Istanbul through experiencing the Turkish culture, Turkish hospitality, Istanbul’s natural and historical richness.
From Istanbul to the whole world, all disabled and undisabled children will give the message of a world where all the obstacles to peace and brotherhood has been demolished.
THE CONTENT OF THE ORGANIZATION
Orthopedically, audibly, verbally, mentally, so and so forth disabled children from all over the world whose countries have their embassies in Turkey and these children’s representatives will attend the First International Smiling Children Festival.
Disabled and undisabled children from various primary schools in Anatolia, especially in Istanbul and their parents will join; in this context socialization of the all children by avoiding any discrimination will be accomplished. Festival program includes short films, tours, visits and various activities. The International Smiling Child Festival that is free of charge will be held in the Feshane Congress and Culture Center.

INVITATION
First International Dance and Music Festival of Disabled Children (7-15 years) is held in Istanbul on 18-25 April 2006 in the frame work of national day of Turkey, namely 23 April National Sovereignity and Child Festival.

Folklore, modern dance, ballet, illusional, instrumental, etc., performances of disabled and mixed ( disabled and undisabled ) children’s groups are welcomed.

Participant individuals and groups number will be invited according to visual documents that are sent. ( Number of companians and the reasons why they have to accompany will be informed.)

Any kind of visual works and art pieces is welcomed and visual works should be sent.

Each participant country will show short film (5 minutes) about the perception of disability in their own country or in the world. DVD format is preferable.

Deadline for applying and sending documents is 25 January 2006.
