Stop bombing civilians!

DPI condemns military actions!

Adopted by the United Nations in 1948 with the objective of preserving humanity from this kind of human disaster, the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are being violated by all parties in the conflict that is killing civilian populations in Lebanon and Israel today.

Disabled Peoples' International is concerned for the safety of persons with disabilities living in the region, and its Officers are revolted to see people ignore one another"s humanity and the complementarities of their different identities and, instead, mutilate and destroy each other!

Middle East countries are weakened by so much conflict and we, persons with disabilities, urge them to pursue a systematic and scrupulous respect for human rights.  Persons with disabilities condemn all military escalation within the Middle East, as well as any force prejudicial to the negotiation of solutions that are respectful of the dignity and well-being of civilian populations.

Working together, persons with disabilities have learned that:

We urge governments, humanitarian organizations and the international community to remember persons with disabilities and ensure that their needs are met.

Persons with disabilities know that human rights cannot be achieved through violence but only through peace. And peace can only be achieved through dialogue and understanding among people from both sides of the conflict.

PEACE CANNOT BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT DIALOGUE!
